A cool morning hike at Red Rock State Park or a slide down a natural water chute then wade and catch some sun along the creek at Slide Rock State Park. Enjoy an evening of Shakespeare on the beautiful grounds of Tlaquepaque or tube down the Verde Valley River. How about having some laughs with Studio Live or taking a sunset Sedona horseback ride, well, you get the idea! You can join a naturalist for a guided nature walk for one and a half to two hours. You will be introduced to the riparian ecosystem of Oak Creek and other aspects of the Park. Some of the subjects that may be discussed include plants, wildlife, geology, history, and archaeology.
  • Guided Bird Walk
    The early bird does get the worm! Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk” on Saturday, June 30th at 7:00 am. Beginner as well as advanced birders are welcome. Rangers recommend that visitors bring their own binoculars. A limited number are available for loan from the Park. The bird-feeding area behind the visitor center, on the Hummingbird Patio, is an excellent spot to start your tour or to take pictures. Most of the year-round birds are found in the riparian area next to Oak Creek or along the field that is behind the visitor center. While visitors hike the trails, they will see many birds who call the Park “home.
