The great variety of gifted sculptors represented by Lanning Gallery is showcased in February as “1st Friday” brings a new exhibition “Sculpture Showcase”! This exhibit focuses on each piece of its sculpture, from stone to raku, steel to ceramic, found objects to bronze. Southwest Sculpture
Salutation s Sedona Marathon and 1st Friday Gallery Tours this Weekend! This month at Turquoise Tortoise Gallery two sculptors take center stage for “Southwest Sculpture” which highlights work from two of the gallery’s newest artists, Al Glann and Manny Valenzuela. Glann sculpts steel into minimalist horse sculptures alive with energy; he then uses these forms as masters for a limited bronze series of each unique horse. For Valenzuela, whose paintings are also at the gallery, it is western abstract figures that define his artwork. His welded steel sculptures follow his penchant for elongated figures presented in a minimalist style which convey his intent with very little distraction.
