First Friday Fun things to do in Sedona and the Verde Valley this AprilOn the first Friday of each month, members of the Sedona Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. These special art receptions give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene. For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. 2nd Annual Tlaquepaque Pet-A-Walkie - Benefiting Sedona Humane Society

A celebration of our beloved pets, the event includes the not-to-be-missed pet parade extravaganza, fantastic musical entertainment, and cool kid’s activities. Compete for the “Best in Show” costume contest where everyone will have the opportunity to win prizes for various costume categories. There is a pre-registration fee of $20 per pet that guarantees an event t-shirt and bag filled with goodies for you and your pet. Local musicians performing include the Bill Barns Trio, Don Whitcher and the Kings of the Border, the Bresnan Blues Band and Joe Neri & Blues Dawg. Evening headliners are Bobcat Jack (aka JW Everitt) and the Alan James Band. The Old Town Center for the Arts is located at 5th Street and Main in Cottonwood, Arizona. What better way to show support to our animal friends in need than a ride through beautiful Sedona. The Ride begins from Olde Sedona Bar & Grill with a police escort parading through and out of Sedona for a beautiful ride experience! There will be Poker Run Stops along the way and your ride will end where it begins, at the Olde Sedona Bar & Grill, for an evening of great food and entertainment!   • Guided Moonlight Hike

Led by a naturalist, it gives hikers the rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while also having the chance to learn about Sedona and its surrounding areas. Verde Valley and park history, as well as archeology, geology, botany, and riparian wildlife information, is offered. The hike lasts two to 2 1/2 hours and covers a distance of approximately two miles. Rangers ask hikers to arrive approximately 30 minutes before starting time to insure participation. No late arrivals can be allowed and reservations are required! When you call 928-282-6907, the arrival time will be given. A $5.00 per person program fee is charged at the time of the reservation.
