The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves.
Below you will find a few of the exhibits and receptions taking place during the First Friday Gallery Tour, to see a full listing of participating galleries please visit the Sedona Gallery Association on Facebook. For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. We also offer our guest free shuttle service to uptown Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

At the Heart of Nature at Rowe Fine Art Gallery
Take a walk on the wild side in October at Rowe Fine Art Gallery! For the first time in his nearly 20 years as a professional artist, Ken Rowe has sculpted the king of the jungle with his newest bronze, Love Gone Wild.Love Gone Wild isn’t the only piece Ken will unveil. 9th Annual Cowboys and Indians Show
The Goldenstein Gallery will be kicking off their 9th Annual Cowboys and Indians Show during First Friday at their new West Sedona space at 70 Dry Creek Road! This highly anticipated celebration of the American West continues the tradition of featuring internationally renowned contemporary Native American and Western Artists. It is deeply rooted in tradition yet flourishes with new styles that are going beyond tradition to capture the imaginations of today. An artist reception will be held along with live music. Capture the Moment opens representing the artwork of Mike Koopsen, Deanne McKeown, Mary Flaisig, and Christine Debrosky. Go early and join the Sedona Arts Center in welcoming Bisbee poet August Schaefer in the Sculpture Garden for readings from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Also this month Sedona Arts Center hosts the 9th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival from October 19 through 26, where 30 nationally known artists compete for awards, paint out in historic locations and share their amazing talent! Artist, Author, Medicine Man at Andrea Smith Gallery
Andrea Smith Gallery will be featuring Heyoka Merrifield, multi-media artist, medicine man, and author. Embracing the shamanic traditions of his Native American ancestry, Heyoka Merrifield’s sculpture and jewelry evoke the ancient mythologies of the Celts, Egyptians, Indians, and Native Americans. During First Friday in October, Heyoka will be signing copies of his latest book, The Book of Shrines, which uses prose, poetry and photographs to tell how his love of nature and the world’s spiritual traditions has awakened his artistic vision. Celebrate the beginning of Fall at the Jerome Art Walk! Twenty-five galleries and studios will be open from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with art, music and refreshments.
