9th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival
October 19th – 26th, 2013
Thirty award-winning artists, selected from among the best of the best, are here in Sedona, Arizona and ready to inspire us all during the 19th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival! These incredibly talented artists are coming to the Sedona area from all over the United States to spend seven days painting en plein air, and to share their incredible talent and unique experiences with this challenging art form. The Festival starts this coming weekend on Saturday October 19th and ends on October 26th, 2013!
Not all of the events during the festival are free. - Main Street Paint Out and Sale
October 19th, 2013
Sponsored by the Sedona Main Street Program, this is the first opportunity for visitors and residents to become acquainted with the artists of the Plein Air Festival and observe them in action! Artists will be painting up and down 89A in uptown Sedona. Finished works will then be on display and sold in front of the Arts Center at 4:00 pm.
- Paint Out in Jerome
October 22nd, 2013 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
The streets and buildings of the old mining town of Jerome provide a rich and challenging subject matter for the artists in this morning paint out sponsored by the Jerome Chamber. A welcome tent at Jerome’s main parking area in the center of town provides orientation and can help guests locate specific artists.
- Quick Paint at Sedona Heritage Museum
October 23rd, 2013 (10:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Turn back the clock as our Plein Air Artists create a painting in just two hours on the grounds of the Sedona Heritage Museum. It’s a chance to get to know the artists and pick your favorite. Watch them paint scenes out of the Old West with horse and buggy and numerous models posed in various period costumes. Works will be available to purchase at noon.
