Star Night Party and Presentation

Spend an evening with your family exploring the universe at Red Rock State Park in Sedona, Arizona on Friday, May 30th! The park has a wonderful evening of star gazing in store for you and your family during their special “Star Night Party”. The event begins with a presentation at 7:30 featuring JD Maddy, president of the Astronomers of Verde Valley. Topics of discussion will range from current astronomical events including the many clusters, nebulas, galaxies, and planets. Telescope viewing will take place after the presentation from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Saturn and Jupiter will be visible; as well as the clusters of Coma Berenices, Virgo, Cancer, and Hercules. Several planetary nebulas, or exploded stars, may also be seen.
There will be treat and a small memento for the children and I have heard that a surprise guest from another world may make a appearance to shake the youngsters hands! Reservations are required, this will be a popular event we highly suggest calling 928.282.6907 to make your reservations today. There is a $5.00 reservation fee per person prior to the event in addition to the park’s admission fees: $5.00 per adult (14 and up), $3.00 per youth (7-13), and free for children (0-6). This event is a collaboration with AZ State Parks, Astronomers of Verde Valley and Keep Sedona Beautiful.
