From a Guided Moonlight Hike with Telescope Viewing, to relaxing early morning bird walks, to a family fun Star Party, to a special presentation on the geology of Sedona, there is something fun for everyone in your family to enjoy at  the park!

Guided Bird Walk

Meet up with other bird lovers at the visitors center at 7:00 am and enjoy a leisurely stroll through one of the most popular parks in Northern Arizona . Daily Nature Walk
Nature walks 2014 July Events and Hikes at Red Rock State Park in SedonaEvery Day at 9:00 am
you can join a naturalist for a guided nature walk of one and a half to two hours. You will be introduced to the riparian ecosystem of Oak Creek and other aspects of the Park. Guided Moonlight Hike & Lunar Viewing with Telescopes
July 12th, 2014 (6:30 pm)
Moonlight hike 2014 July Events and Hikes at Red Rock State Park in SedonaJoin Red Rock State Park in Sedona, Arizona for a guided moonlight hike followed by lunar viewing after the hike on top of our visitor center, hosted by the Astronomers of Verde Valley. The Moonlight Hike is among the most popular interpretive hikes at the Park. Led by a naturalist, it gives hikers the rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while also having the chance to learn about Sedona and its surrounding areas. The hike lasts two to 2 1/2 hours and covers a distance of approximately two miles. After the hike join the Astronomers of Verde Valley for a lunar viewing on top of the visitor center. The Astronomers will have telescopes and volunteers to help guide guests though the evening sky! The Geology of Sedona with Wayne Ranney

Join Red Rock State Park in welcoming author Wayne Ranney! Have you ever wondered how the formations were made or why the rocks are red? Wayne will explain in laymen’s terms how this incredible place came to be; “It includes a journey across ancient sand dunes, bears witness to a volcano that erupted very near Sedona, and tells about the faulting and erosion that created Oak Creek Canyon.” Reservation are required please call (928) 282-6907. Star Night Party at Red Rock State Park
July 25th, 2014 (7:30 pm)
Star Party 2014 July Events and Hikes at Red Rock State Park in SedonaStar Parties are a great way for families to enjoy the evening sky together, there will even be a chance for children to shake hands with a surprise guest-(perhaps one from another world?) After the 7:30 presentation there will be telescope viewing available from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
