Fall is in the air, and plein air artists can be found all around Sedona creating masterpieces for the Plein Air Festival kicking off today! The high’s for the weekend are in the low 80’s making it perfect for taking that fall hike or a walk about town.

This is going to be a busy weekend and we would like to take a moment to remind all of our guests about our “Complimentary About Town Shuttle”. Take the hassle of driving and finding parking out of the equation this weekend, let us do the driving. We have a central drop off point in Uptown and we also go to the most popular Sedona hot spots including: Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, Hillside Galleries, West Sedona dining and more! This free shuttle service is available to all our guests from 8:00 am until last pick up at 9:30 pm. The Shuttle leaves the hotel every half hour. Have a great weekend!

Ales on Rails at the Verde Canyon Railroad

There are parties and shindigs and then there is Oktoberfest! Of course Verde Canyon Railroad never misses out on a good time so they roll out their popular Ales on Rails every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October. The party starts at 11:00 am on the depot patio with a mouthwatering luncheon ($11) of German sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, pretzels and strudel, all served to the rhythmic tunes of a polka serenade. A $10 logo beer glass comes with five beer tastings. The 1:00 p.m. train whistle signals the continuation of the party as it moves onto the rails with specialty beers served on board, including Verde Canyon Railroad’s own private-labeled brews, crafted in Sedona by the renowned Oak Creek Brewery. Red Rock State Park: Guided Archaeology Hike
October 15th, 2017 (1:00 pm)
The program is included with the park admission
Red Rock State Park has been a destination for Native Americans for several millennia. Most of the ancient features found in the park are from the Sinagua culture dating about 1100 to 1425 AD. Come and hear the fascinating story of the pre-Columbian people who lived and traveled in the park! The hike will identify the various archaeological features and interpret them into the wider context of important regional Sinagua sites. Explore ideas of other cultures that may likely have made use of the park’s resources. The hike will last about two hours, with an elevation gain of some 250 feet, along easy trails.
