It is Marathon weekend in Sedona, Arizona and the red rocks are filled with the sounds of runners pushing themselves to do better and get healthier, all while taking in the beautiful scenery of Sedona!
We wanted to remind our guests that our breakfast room will be open at 5:30 am and our Complimentary “About Town” shuttle will be ready to go by 6:00 am to take you where you need to go! Sedona’s 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries

The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves. What a perfect event to find that special Valentine’s Day gift! All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. His passion for blues music and the guitar have been the driving force in his quest for artistry. Sir Harrison’s music and stage performance has attracted a broad audience. His guitar playing is straight from the soul. He’s been compared to Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Cray, but Sir Harrison’s guitar playing has his own unique sound. Red Rock State Park – Guided Bird Walk
February 6th, 2016 (9:00 am)
Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk”. Beginning as well as advanced birders are welcome. Rangers recommend that visitors bring their own binoculars. A limited number are available for loan from the Park. No matter the time of day, visitors can check out the many birds who make Red Rock State Park their home. 11th Annual Sedona Marathon
February 6th, 2016
The Sedona Marathon Event is proud to offer four fantastic races: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and the Full Marathon. The course is ranked as one of the most beautiful races in the country. The red-rock views, and high-desert mild winter temperatures help the Sedona Marathon Event live up to its reputation of a world-class event. Spectators, supporters and participants will also be treated to an Event Expo. The community of Sedona features artists, and live performers that will inspire and entertain both locals and visitors alike. Michael Peach at the Sedona Heritage Museum
“Lions (& Rattlers & Dragons & Longhorns) and Bears – Oh My”

The Sedona Heritage Museum presents Michael Peach in a performance of his new original show “Lions (& Rattlers & Dragons & Longhorns) and Bears – Oh My”! Peach’s show features his unique blend of original cowboy poetry with a tongue-in-cheek look at Arizona and local history, also incorporating jokes, stories, and first person narrative. An award-winning actor, playwright and historian Michael Peach is especially good at bringing to life history and his subjects. But, he isn’t afraid to also spin some tall tales, too. Sedona Poetry Slam

Poets and audience members are invited to the third Sedona Poetry Slam of the 2015-16 season, which kicks off at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre, and will be hosted by Sedona poet Christopher Fox Graham. Slam poetry is an art form that allows written page poets to share their work alongside theatrical performers, hip-hop artists and lyricists. While many people may think of poetry as dull and laborious, a poetry slam is like a series of high-energy, three-minute one-person plays. All types of poetry are welcome on the stage, from street-wise hip-hop and narrative performance poems, to political rants and introspective confessionals. Jerome Art Walk

Once again, the magical mountain town will be hosting a night filled with art, music and refreshments galore. Art Walk is the only night that galleries are open from 5 to 8pm. Members like Nellie Bly by the Spirit Room, Patrick Lincoln in The New State Motor Company and Flux Gallery in the Old Jerome High School all bring a fresh energy to the vibrant art scene in Jerome. With 22 participating galleries and studios and many sponsoring businesses and restaurants offering specials, this is a festive night in Jerome. Award winning guitarist, composer, and harp guitarist Muriel Anderson is one of the few international touring guitarists equally at home with fingerstyle, bluegrass, classical, freeform, and international music. She has recorded with country legend Chet Atkins, performed with jazz greats Les Paul and Victor Wooten and with classical orchestras. Her recent CD Nightlight-Daylight placed first in its category in 11 national awards, and is the first ever to incorporate interactive fiber optics. The Dover String Quartet

The Dover String Quartet (violinists Joel Link and Bryan Lee, violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt and cellist Camdon Shaw) catapulted to international stardom following a stunning sweep of the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition, becoming one of the most in-demand ensembles in the world. The New Yorker recently dubbed them “the young American string quartet of the moment”, The Strad raved that the Quartet is “already pulling away from their peers with their exceptional interpretive maturity, tonal refinement and taut ensemble”, and The Wall Street Journal exclaimed “Masterly nuanced…gutsy and earthy sound.” In 2013-14, the Quartet became the first ever Quartet-in-Residence for the venerated Curtis Institute of Music.
