holiday Events Holiday Events this Weekend in Sedona, AZ

Wow, it is hard to believe that it is already the weekend before Christmas! My holiday shopping is almost done, my dinner planned and I am so ready to relax and enjoy this festive weekend. If you are going to be visiting Sedona and the Verde Valley this weekend and need to finish up your holiday shopping I highly suggest visiting Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village for their Holiday Sweet Stroll on Saturday! You will find some unique and fun gifts, holiday treats, giveaways and some great discount offers. Even if you have finished your shopping I would still go to the art village and check out the holiday decor, it is beautiful.

If you are traveling with your kids I would definitely visit the Sedona Heritage Museum on Sunday for a very special reading of the Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol”. Tinsel Town at Posse Grounds will also be open for the weekend and I hear through the grapevine that Santa will be stopping by today, December 19th! If you enjoy vintage holiday decor, mixed in with some history, I would visit the Fort Verde State Historical Park in Camp Verde and take in the beautiful Victorian decorations. Above all else this weekend, enjoy your family and take in all the warmth and love this season brings.

We hope you have a fabulous weekend and if you are staying at the Best Western Plus Inn of Sedona this weekend please take advantage of our complimentary “About Town” Shuttle and visit with our Concierge, she will be happy to help you with reservations and ideas!

“Loving Bowls” at the Sedona Arts Center

Sedona Arts Center

Loving Bowls

December 13th, 2014

lovingbowlsbanner Loving Bowls at the Sedona Arts CenterThere is something about a handcrafted bowl filled with chili that really puts me in the mood for the winter holidays. A bowl that represents art, love, warmth, gratitude and giving. A bowl that is so much more than what it appears. But where, where could I get such a bowl? Are you asking the same question? Well, I have the answer for you!

Every year since I have lived in the Verde Valley the Sedona Arts Center presents a community fundraiser called “Loving Bowls” in December. The event offers a large selection of over 1000 bowls created by local volunteer potters who have created bowls with a variety of glazes and artistic flare! These bowls can be purchased for only $10 each and they come with chili, bread and yes dessert of course! So basically you get a very cool bowl, a meal and you get to do some good – the proceeds will benefit the Sedona Food Bank, the Sedona Community Center, Humane Society of Sedona and the educational programs of the Sedona Arts Center.

Loving Bowls will be taking place this Saturday, December the 13th from 12:00 om – 3:00 pm in the Special Exhibitions Gallery and Theatre Classroom at Sedona Arts Center in Uptown Sedona! For more information on this Sedona event please visit the Sedona Arts Center.
