On the first Friday of each month, members of the Sedona Gallery Association offer a unique showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events.These special art receptions give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene.

For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Here are a few of our top picks.

“32nd Annual Members Juried Exhibition”
The Sedona Arts Center proudly presents the 32nd Annual Members Juried Exhibition, one of the most exciting art showcases of the year in Sedona! A variety of styles and media from exquisite jewelry to fine art paintings to sculptures will be juried into the show by a distinguished panel of artists. Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village – Rowe Fine Art Gallery
“Bringing a New Dimension to Still Life
Join Rowe Fine Art Gallery, located in Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, in welcoming painter Sue Krzyston. Come meet Sue and see her latest oil paintings at Rowe Fine Art Gallery on March 2nd  from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  Sue, who has lived in Phoenix for 41 years and has been painting for 30 years, says she’s excited to meet collectors as well as those who might be discovering her work for the very first time. Mountain Trails Gallery Honors Arizona Centennial
Mountain Trails Gallery, located in the beautiful Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, in honor of Arizona’s Centennial will debut the new bronze sculpture at First Friday’s reception that pays tribute to Arizona’s frontier. Rough Road to Tombstone by Dustin Payne depicts the adventure and danger a Wells Fargo stagecoach encountered on the way to Tombstone during the height of the town’s silver mining era.  “Mind Over Matter”
“Mind Over Matter” is a show that celebrates the sheer power and magic of the elements of wood and earth. Featuring Eric Freyer renowned for his stunning Tulip Tables and Chairs, Dennis Elliott whose turned wall pieces are featured in the Smithsonian and Boston Museums of Art, Jim Romberg who is one of the top Raku artists in the country, known for his exquisite pieces and Cheston Trammel who ancient alligator juniper tables evoke the spirit of the southwest. Jim Romberg will give a free talk at 6:15. Music with local favorites Frost & Frost.


Then on Saturday  head up to Jerome for the very popular Jerome Art Walk (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm) . The Jerome Art Walk keeps its momentum going on March 3rd, approaching the spring season with more artistic energy and wonderful talent than ever before. Every first Saturday, the creative community of Jerome is pleased to host an evening of art, music and entertainment with open studios and galleries displaying local, regional and national artistic treasures. New members have joined the group and are planning special events throughout the town. This free event has become a Verde Valley favorite with a shuttle that will transport you from the artist filled Old Jerome High School, up to the center of town with The Lincoln Gallery and Made in Jerome Pottery and everything in-between.
