Join all of us in Sedona, Arizona and the Verde Valley as we embrace Earth Day. On April 22nd, 2017 people around the world will celebrate the day and show support for environmental protection. Events are designed to be both fun and educational, encouraging people to pay attention to our planet’s needs and give us ideas of things each of us can do to protect our planet such as recycling, solar power, planting trees and others. Below you will find the Earth Day Celebration taking place in Sedona, Arizona and the Verde Valley.
Earth Day Celebration at Red Rock State Park
April 22nd, 2017 (10:00 am – 3:00 pm)
You’re invited to celebrate Earth Day at Red Rock State Park! They will have all sorts of activities, including:

- Art Showcase

Earth Day Arts Fest – Camp Verde
April 22nd, 2017 (1:00 pm – 5:00 pm)
Let’s put the “Verde” in Camp Verde and Go GREEN! Bring your friends to celebrate Camp Verde’s first Earth Day Arts Fest! This is a SciTech and Verde Valley Arts Festival event for families, students, artsy & outdoorsy folk. This event will take place at Rezzonico Park off of Montezuma Castle Highway, next to the new library, 130 Black Bridge Road, Camp Verde.
- 1:00 – 1:30 Arbor Day Tree Planting w/ Live Music & Poetry
- 1:30 – 5:00 Live Music by local musician Ray Reeves
- 1:30 – 3:30 Kayak Clinic (20 min workshop = $10 cash)

Earth Day Peace Festival
April 22nd, 2017 (12:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
Sedona Mago Retreat is hosting a complimentary Earth Day Peace Festival, Prayer Ceremony and Floating Candle Ceremony. Guests can drive to the retreat center, which is located at 3500 E Bill Gray Road or a shuttle service will be provided to and from their Information House at 695 N Bill Gray Road, at the corner of Bill Gray Rd. (761) and 89A. People can come for the entire event, for the afternoon, or for the evening prayer ceremony. Participation is Complementary – Lunch, Dinner & Shuttle are included. Celebration of the Earth

The theme of this unique and inspiring show is “Celebration of the Earth” as the art forms of music intertwine to celebrate and experience the diversity of cultures. Since ancient times, Taiko rhythms have set the heartbeat in motion, expressing the melodies and pulse of mother earth. Ken Koshio is a world class Japanese Taiko drummer. Taiko is a Japanese style of percussion, which combines music, movement and spirit. Ken pushes the boundaries of Taiko through various collaborations, creating a totally authentic and unique style of music. It is truly an amazing and powerful production and the most exciting performance. This event will take place at Old Town Center for the Arts located 5th and Main Street in Cottonwood, AZ.
