4th Annual Old Town Blues Fest – Cottonwood, AZ
March 29th, 2014 (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm)
This year’s Old Town Blues Festival features performers from all over Arizona, including Arizona Blues Hall of Famer Tommy Dukes, and a return headlining performance by California’s Fran Banish.Opening the nonstop festival will be local and Arizona guitar legend Llory McDonald. Llory’s been entertaining folks, both as a solo performer and with her legendary band Combo Deluxe, for over 20 years. Spring Heritage Pecan and Wine Festival – Camp Verde, AZ
March 29th – 30th, 2014
pecansThe Spring Heritage Pecan and Wine Festival, an event for the entire family, will take place on Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 am. to 6:00 pm and Sunday March 30th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in downtown Camp Verde. In addition to the wine tasting event under the big tent, the Verde Valley Archaeology Center will host the Verde Valley Archaeology Fair and Indian Art Show, and the Verde River Valley Nature Organization will host the Verde River Runoff canoe and kayak race, both on Saturday and Sunday. Verde Valley Archaeology Fair – Camp Verde, AZ
Exhibits, demonstrations and American Indian Art Show
March 29th – 30th, 2014
Verde Valley ArchaeologyEnjoy two exciting days of archaeological adventures, and take a trip back in time to explore the past through hands-on activities and presentations. Experience the excitement of archaeology with dozens of hands-on activities, live presentations, and special programs. The Archaeology Fair is an annual free event that feature archaeologically themed programs and interactive activities for the whole family. Activities are created and presented by archaeologists, educators and other specialists.The Fair includes the annual American Indian Art Show with artists from Hopi, Navajo land, Zuni and several New Mexico pueblo communities. Artists will demonstrate their medium and have their work available for sale. The Art Show is in the Community Center with the archaeology exhibits. Verde River Runoff Race – Camp Verde, AZ
March 29th, 2014
runofflogoVerde River Runoff is a ten-mile race on a beautiful desert river. Come experience the first river race of the season while enjoying the Verde Valley’s attractions and activities.The race start is on Route 260, at White Bridge Park, just east of Camp Verde. The end of the race is at Beasley Flats, a US Forest Service Recreation Area approximately 10 miles downriver from the start. The river difficulty is class I-II (III at high water). This event is permitted through a special use permit with the US Forest Service. Welcome Home Vietnam Veteran Day

Fore Verde State Historic Park is happy to announce it’s “Welcome Home Vietnam Veteran Day”. This free event is in honor of the sacrifices and contributions our Vietnam War Veterans have made to protect the life, liberty and happiness of every American. For God, Gold, and Glory: The Coronado Expedition
March 30th, 2014 (2:00 pm)
Red Rock State Park is pleased to present “For God, Gold, and Glory: The Coronado Expedition” featuring speaker Jim Turner. Francisco Vasquez de Coronado entered Arizona with the largest European expedition know to North American history in 1540. Though the exact route through Arizona is unclear, historians have entertained the idea for years. Join us as Jim Turner leads us on a virtual tour through images by famous artists, maps, scenic and historical photographs, and archeological remains from one of Coronado’s campsites.
