If you love pecans, wine, kayaking, archaeology, sunshine and clear skies then Camp Verde is the place to be this weekend! The Spring Heritage Pecan & Wine Festival, Verde River Runoff, Verde Valley Archaeology Fair & American Indian Art Show and the 2015 International Archaeology Film Festival all take place this weekend. And if that wasn’t enough, there will be no admission fee at Fort Verde State Park on Saturday and Sunday! So what do you say, are you ready for some fun!
Camp Verde’s Spring Heritage Pecan & Wine Festival
March 28th & 29th, 2015 (10:00 am – 6:00 pm)
The Town of Camp Verde, its sponsors and its partners, are pleased to announce that the 2015 Spring Heritage Pecan & Wine Festival will take place in downtown Camp Verde. This year’s event will, among other things, launch Camp Verde’s year long Sesquicentennial celebration, commemorating the community’s founding in 1865. The Festival is actually a handful of events rolled into one: Camp Verde Pecan & Wine Festival, Verde Valley Archaeology Fair, Verde River Runoff canoe and kayak race, and a host of activities surrounding Arizona State Parks Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month. Admission to all events is free. Charges will apply for wine tasting and race participants. The Verde Valley Archaeology Fair and International Archaeology Film Festival are held during Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month on the last weekend in March. Enjoy two exciting days of archaeological adventures, and take a trip back in time to explore the past through hands-on activities and presentations.
Experience the excitement of archaeology with dozens of hands-on activities, live presentations, and special programs. The Fair includes the annual American Indian Art Show with artists from Hopi, Navajoland, Zuni and several New Mexico pueblo communities. Artists will demonstrate their medium and have their work available for sale. The Art Show is in the Community Center with the archaeology exhibits.
The 2015 International Archaeology Film Festival will have film showings March 27th and 28th at 7:00 pm at the Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts, 210 Camp Lincoln Road, Camp Verde. Verde River Runoff 2015

VRVNO is proud to host this 3rd Annual Verde River Runoff 2015! This 10 Mile CANOE / KAYAK race is along a remote and beautiful stretch of the Verde River from White Bridge, Camp Verde to Beasley Flats! Join the Awards and After-Party, March 28th at the Sesquicentennial ‘Spring Heritage Festival’ behind the Camp Verde Community Center 395 S. Main St Camp Verde, AZ. All proceeds benefit the conservation and outdoor recreation in and on the Verde River Valley.
