What a great weekend to visit Sedona, Arizona! The weekend kicks off with an exploration of art at Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour on February 5th, 2016. Then on Saturday join the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, along with the entire Sedona area, in welcoming thousands of runners, their families and friends for the 8th Annual Sedona Marathon! And then on Saturday evening the town of Jerome will be holding their “Art Walk”.

For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. If you are staying at the Best Western PLUS Inn of Sedona, we also offer our guest free shuttle service to uptown Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Sedona Arts Center“Something New” will be featuring for the first time selected new artists who will be represented in Sedona Arts Center’s main gallery for the upcoming year!In addition, the arts center is presenting two highlighted events: From the Heart and Out of the Fire.

  • From the Heart – February 5th – 14th, 2016
    Invited poets, photographers, and visual artists will participate in a combination of visual and verbal original artwork, capturing statements “From the Heart.”
  • Out of the Fire – February 5th – 7th
    Wildly talented artists are teaming up from Sedona’s very own glass art studio and gallery, The Melting Point, and Sedona Arts Center’s Ceramics Department to collaborate on a unique exhibition of glass and ceramic art, both of which are born “Out of the Fire!”

Kurt Wenner, one of the most recognized artists ever to exhibit in Sedona, is an American artist with an international following. While most known for the invention of interactive 3D pavement art illusions, his work also includes large-scale oil paintings, ceramic murals, sculptures, decorative elements, and architectural designs for public and private clients in more than 30 countries. Wenner has created a collection of sacred art images, including Jesus, Yogananda, Moses and Mother Mary, specifically for Andrea Smith Gallery.
