Visit Sedona, Arizona this weekend and enjoy the creations of talented artists at Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour on April 5th, 2013 and the Jerome Art Walk on Saturday, April 6th!

The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves.

Below you will find a few of the exhibits and receptions taking place during the First Friday Gallery Tour, to see a full listing of participating galleries please visit the Sedona Gallery Association. For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. We also offer our guest free shuttle service to uptown Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

“100th 1st Friday”
This Friday evening, during Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour, the Goldenstein Gallery Invites you to the opening of “100th 1st Friday”, commemorating their 100th 1st Friday Tour with the Sedona Gallery Association! Meet visiting acclaimed artists Jerry Gorman and Lucius Upshaw and enjoy live entertainment featuring local favorites Frost and Frost. “Local Color” at Rowe Fine Art Gallery
Rowe Fine Art Gallery will celebrate its local artists with a new show, “Local Color.” The exhibit is part of the Sedona Gallery Association’s 1st Friday Gallery Tour. Wine and appetizers will be served. Artists represented in the exhibit include Cherie Danielle (jewelry), Vince Fazio (painting), Lynn Heil (painting), Liam Herbert (jewelry), Kim Kori (sculpture), Nicolai Medvedev (sculpture and jewelry), Jack Morley (graphite), Erik Petersen (sculpture) and Ken Rowe (sculpture). Meet a multiple award-winning jewelry artist as “Vernon A. Begaye: Award-Winning Inlay” opens at the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery!Growing up on the Navajo Reservation with parents who were both traditional Navajo silversmiths (his mom is also a traditional rug weaver), Begaye learned early on to explore his artistic talents. While he began jewelry-making with traditional designs it wasn’t long before his own artistic sensibilities began to distinguish his work. And win him innumerable awards. Begaye’s cuff bracelets, buckles, bolos, pendants, earrings and more bear the mark of a dedicated jeweler who works on his art each day. Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village
“Inspired by Tradition: The Best of the West”
Mountain Trails Galleries is proud to present “Inspired by Tradition: The Best of the West” at both their Tlaquepaque galleries. The show features more than 30 paintings and sculptures highlighting the cowboy way of life as well as the Native American culture.Guest artists-in-residence Deon Duncan and Kraig Varner, both from Utah, will be in the gallery giving sculpting demonstrations as they work on new figurative sculptures. Mountain Trails Gallery is honored to also share the weekend with a distinguished member of the Confederated Tribe of the Colville Reservation in Washington. Known as Warcloud, Percy Edwards traces his heritage to four Native American tribes in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest and will be dancing in his 60-pound handmade Pow-Wow regalia. Anna Pales:Tranquility
The gallery is happy to welcome Anna Pales to Sedona; her work has been exhibited in museums as well as numerous group and individual shows nationwide and her innovative paintings have been recognized not only throughout the United States but in Great Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. The paintings Pales creates are equally admired for the distinction of her style as for the distinction of her technique. Pales creates Contemporary landscapes and still lifes painted in acrylic on panel then built up with rich layers of skillfully applied resin. The monthly tradition of Jerome First Saturday Art Walk has taken root and will blossom once again this spring with new artists and studios as well as Jerome’s exciting and well-known galleries. Stroll the mountain town or take the free shuttle for an evening of art, live music, food and delightful conversation. Patrick Lincoln has been a part of the Jerome Art Scene for many years. His Lincoln Gallery in The New State Motor Company is filled with amazing images of the world as he sees it. A poet, an artist and a Jerome fixture, a visit to Patrick’s studio is a must!
