“Good Eats” El Rincon at Tlaquepaque
My brother arrived in Sedona on Friday night so we made his first “Sedona Event” Fiesta del Tlaquepaque on Saturday! We were enjoying the music and dancers, and of course the amazing shops and galleries, when we decided that lunch was in order.
El Rincon, specializing in “Arizona Style” Mexican cuisine, gets great comments, and we recommend them to our guests, but I’m sorry to say that I hadn’t been there yet. We decided that we would give it a try, and we certainly weren’t disappointed!
There were four humans and one adorable pup for lunch, so we were seated on the patio with no wait. The hostess even brought a bowl of water for our four legged companion! The menu was full of great choices, and it was tough to decide what to have, but the hostess and server were both great with recommendations and assistance, (we have food allergies to contend with but they were no problem with these ladies’ help!)
We each had something different and everyone was very impressed with the quality of their meals. The beef chimichanga, served with beans and rice was delicious, and there was plenty! In fact I was still full when dinner time rolled around. One of the gang had the bean burrito and she loved it. The other two had combo plates. Beef tacos, chicken tamales, chicken burritos and a beef enchilada, all of which received two thumbs up, with a special nod of approval for the tamales!
Just be prepared, the prices are definitely “Sedona pricing”, it was close to eighty dollars for four of us for lunch. That did include a couple of Mexican beers which pushed the total up a bit. But honestly, we didn’t mind the prices. The wonderful service, friendly staff and great food made it worth every penny!
