Do you love hiking in Sedona? Have you ever wanted to see how beautiful the red rocks where by the light of the moon, here is your chance! Tonight, October 29th, 2012, see Sedona in a whole new light, moonlight that is, with a guided hike at Red Rock State Park!
This 2 1/2 hour naturalist-led interpretive moonlight hike is by far the most popular hike offered by Red Rock State Park. Enjoy the cooler temperatures of evening as you enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon. You will also have the chance to learn a great deal about Sedona and its surrounding areas. Information about Verde Valley and park history, as well as archeology, geology, botany, and the riparian wildlife area is offered.
The park recommends that you come through the gate approximately 30 minutes before starting time to insure your participation because no late arrivals can be allowed. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 928-282-6907, and the starting time will also be given. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes (prepare for a cool night) and bring water, a flashlight, and insect spray. A $5.00 per person program fee will be charged at the time of the reservations. There is also a $10.00 entrance fee to the Park for a car of four adults. Program fees are non-refundable unless the Park must cancel the hike after your arrival.
