T’was the weekend before Christmas and all through the town… well, you know how it goes!! It may not rhyme, but Sedona is twinkling with holiday lights and the sounds of carols are wafting through the canyons. The trails are filled with hikers and bikers and everyone is exploring the red rocks while waiting for Christmas morning. It’s a magical time of year in this beautiful place we call home.

We want to welcome all of our guests and visitors to Sedona, Arizona over this holiday weekend. Live Entertainment in Cottonwood, AZ
Four Shillings Short Winter Solstice Yule Concert

Tickets: $20 advance, $22 door, $25 priority
The Celtic/Folk/World music duo Four Shillings Short are coming to Old Town Cottonwood in December for a special Winter Solstice/Yule Concert featuring music, poetry and stories from the Celtic & World music Traditions. They will be joined by local musician and sister Susannah Martin. Four Shillings Short, the husband/wife duo of Aodh Og O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland and Christy Martin from California, perform Traditional and Original music from the Celtic lands, Medieval & Renaissance Europe, India and the Americas on a fantastic array of instruments. Susannah Martin is acclaimed for her enticing vocals in styles of jazz, pop, classic rock and brazilian/latin jazz. This event will take place at Old Town Center for the Arts located at 5th Street & Main in Cottonwood, AZ. Red Rock State Park – Guided Bird Walk
December 23rd, 2017 (9:00 am)
The program is included with the park admission
HOME_653Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk”. Beginning as well as advanced birders are welcome. Rangers recommend that visitors bring their own binoculars. A limited number are available for loan from the Park. No matter the time of day, visitors can check out the many birds who make Red Rock State Park their home. The bird-feeding area behind the visitor center, on the Hummingbird Patio, is an excellent spot to start your tour or to take pictures. McLean Meditation Institute – Guided Meditation

meditation-CDEveryone is welcome to join the discussion and introduction to meditation and mindfulness with an expert meditation mentor including Sarah McLean, Devani Page, Eva Maurice, and Joy Nanda. Each week a different meditation is offered, including Loving Kindness Meditation, Mindfulness, Visualization, Breath Awareness, Body Appreciation, Chakra Meditation, or Gratitude Meditation. No experience is necessary to attend. Walk ins welcome, though you must arrive on time to participate and be 13 or older. $5 donation. This event takes place at the McLean Meditation Institute, 411 State Route 179 (at the junction of 179 & Schnebly Hill Road) in Sedona. Sound Bites Grill is pleased to present Phil Rossi! Phil Rossi is a versatile piano player who’s mother Lillian was a musician and taught Phil the basics of the piano when he was eight years old. From that point he progressed by practicing until he was sixteen years old at which point he formed a trio with two neighborhood friends a drummer and bass player and began his career by playing church socials, school sock hops etc. He had been fortunate during his musical career to have worked with The Chairman of the Board Frank Sinatra Sr. and also with his son Frank Jr. and drummer Buddy Rich to name a few.
