SJ.ShafferWhat a great weekend to visit Sedona, Arizona and the Verde Valley, especially if you love mountain biking or exploring the arts! Friday kicks off the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival followed by an exploration of art at Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour. Then on Saturday evening the town of Jerome will be holding their “Art Walk”.

For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. If you are staying at the Best Western PLUS Inn of Sedona, we also offer our guest free shuttle service to uptown Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Goldenstein GalleryThe Goldenstein Gallery invites you to join them on Friday for the opening reception of “Decades in the Making’ which celebrates artists who have been creating work for decades throughout their lives. Among the many renowned featured artists are Adele Seronde and her garden impressionistic pieces, colored pencil and acrylic painter SJ Shaffer, Allen Powell and his dramatic “mosaic” technique paintings, fine woodworker Judd Lotts, Karyl Bennett and her multi-media paintings, Rafe Terry with his linear painting style, Mike Medow with his wordworks, Marilyn Bos with her surreal landscapes, Ben Wright and his spiritual paintings, and impressionist paintings by Peter Myerson. the exhibit runs until March 31st! Brush and Bronze at Rowe Fine Art Gallery

Ken RoweHave you had the chance to meet Michigan-based acrylic painter Kim Diment? If not, gallery owner and renowned bronze wildlife artist Ken Rowe wants to introduce you to her during Kim and Ken’s first-ever collaborative show, Brush and Bronze. Ken will reveal a sculpture in progress featuring an eagle titled Fly Fishing while Kim is traveling with paintings featuring a scrub jay (The Key, The Cairn, The Jay) and a cougar (Dreaming in Sienna). On Saturday, both artists will demonstrate onsite. This will be Ken’s first show since 2014 and Kim’s first show since last spring. Mountain Trails Galleries “Westward Ho”

Mountain Trails Gallery opens a new exhibition of painting and sculpture that pays tribute to the settling of the American West as artists team up to share stories of the adventures of the great explorers, the mountain men, the ranchers and cowboys, as well as the Native American tribes who forged ahead continuing to keep their cultures alive. Over that time, strong relationships – and friendships – have been forged as Escalante works alongside the Native American weavers to create a unique mohair blended wool and to continually adapt color palettes and design combinations to best meet the ever changing world of interior design and decorating. The expertise and commitment of owner Dean Bulolo represents the second generation of Escalante dedicated to honoring the history and the continuing culture of these gifted weavers. Once again, the magical mountain town will be hosting a night filled with art, music and refreshments galore. Art Walk is the only night that galleries are open from 5 to 8pm. Members like Nellie Bly by the Spirit Room, Patrick Lincoln in The New State Motor Company and Flux Gallery in the Old Jerome High School all bring a fresh energy to the vibrant art scene in Jerome. With 22 participating galleries and studios and many sponsoring businesses and restaurants offering specials, this is a festive night in Jerome.
