The Red Rocks Music Festival educates, engages and challenges audiences through a unique collaboration of musicians from leading Arizona performing arts organizations and world acclaimed artists. The festival kicks off August 23rd, 2013 with concert violinist Elmira Darvarova performing at the Kerr Cultural Center in Scottsdale, Arizona! “From Bach to Blues” – Featuring Violinist Elmira Darvarova
August 24th, 2013
Tickets:$25 General Admission
Location: Sedona Creative Life Center
Ms. Darvarova is a concert violinist who was the first female concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She is the first violinist of the New York Piano Quartet and President/Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Music Festival. This unique program will include selections from the Baroque era to works based on Led Zeppelin harmonies.

Souvenir de Florence – Featuring Legendary Violinist Shmuel Ashkenasi

Location: Sedona Creative Life Center
Shmuel Ashkenasi, first violinist of the Vermeer Quartet and Professor of Violin at Northern Illinois University (formerly), holds the Artist Diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music. He performs extensively as a soloist in the United States, Europe, South America, the former Soviet Union, and Japan.

“Transfigured Night”
September 1st, 2013
Tickets: $28 Premium Seating/$18 General Admission
Location: Sedona Performing Arts Center
Desert Dance Theatre and Red Rocks Music Festival presents “Transfigured Night” Original choreography performed to featured music “Transfigured Night” by Arnold Schoenberg and “Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio” by Claude Bolling.

“Rhapsody in Blue” – Steinway artists Yuki and Tomoko Mack

After winning strong recognition as soloists, Yuki and Tomoko melded their artistry into an award-winning piano duo. They won prizes in several prestigious international competitions: First and Kodama Prize at the Fourth International Piano Duo Competition in Tokyo; the Dranoff International Two-Piano Competition in Florida; and the Ellis Two-Piano National Competition in South Carolina.
