The weekend is here and all of us in Sedona, AZ are ready for some fun and relaxation. Sedona Heritage Museum – Veteran’s Day Tribute

Join the Sedona Heritage Museum for thier Veteran’s Day Tribute. The Program includes a Flag Ceremony, dignitaries, a program, recognition of veterans, entertainment and light lunch. Shuttle service is provided from nearby parking lots. The day’s events are underwritten by the City of Sedona and the Sedona Heritage Museum. Program, refreshments and Museum admission are free. Veteran’s Day special premiere:’Honor Riders’
Navajo American flute player Kelvin Mockingbird

Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members
The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to observe Veteran’s Day with the premiere of “Honor Riders” at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. This special premiere will feature Navajo American flute player Kelvin Mockingbird who will open the film with Dineh traditional flute songs and prayers to honor the soldiers for Veteran’s Day. After the film, there will be a Q&A discussion with the film’s director Ralphina Hernandez. “Honor Riders” is the story of the Navajo-Hopi Honor Riders — a Native American motorcycle group originally founded in 2003 to honor the first Native American woman killed in Iraq, Army Specialist Lori Piestewa. Sedona Entertainment: Anthony Mazzella’s Guitar Legends Show

Legends Of Guitar is a tribute show to famous guitar players and their music. The show features world renowned guitar virtuoso Anthony Mazzella who plays it all live. Legends Of Guitar reaches a very broad audience given the diversity of artists it pays tribute to. People love guitar music and are fanatical about the bands they play in. This show features the technical skills of the greatest guitarists and the music from some of the biggest bands. This live event will take place at Sedona’s Sound Bites Grill. Walkkin’ On Main – Cottonwood, AZ
November 12th, 2016 (11:00 am – 5:00 pm)
The City of Cottonwood is celebrating Historic 89A and the Verde Valley with “Walkin’ on Main”! A juried art show presented by the Old Town Frame Company, and art exhibits on the street surrounded by the charming galleries, shops and local restaurants of Old Town Cottonwood fill the streets. Walkin’ on Main also includes wine tasting, historic displays, classic car show and jazz/blues music. Verde Valley winemakers and vineyards will host an outdoor wine tasting on a closed off portion of historic 89A. Cost is $15 and with that each person will receive multiple taste of wine and a glass. Internationally-recognized classical and flamenco guitarist/composer Andre Feriante is returning to Sedona by popular demand with his new show “The Poet of the Guitar”. on the Goldenstein Stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival. In “The Poet of the Guitar” Andre will take you on a poetic and musically diverse journey, Spanish Guitar classics, jazz standards, original compositions, pop songs on the ukulele, poetry of Lorca and Rumi and renderings of Bach, Villa-Lobos and Leonard Cohen. Guided Geology Hike

Join Red Rock State Park’s knowledgeable volunteers as they venture out on their trails and discuss how Sedona transformed into what we see today. Red Rock State Park is located at the base of the Mogollon Rim, the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. Over millions of years of erosion the rim has receded over four miles leaving behind the picturesque features of Sedona. This is an interpretive experience for both the beginner and experienced hiker, lasting between 2-2 ½ hours and an elevation gain of 250 feet. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear. Guided Meditation with Sarah McLean & expert meditation mentors

During the 45-minute program, simple meditation guidance is given–each week a different meditation is offered such as a Loving Kindness Meditation, Mindfulness, Visualization, Breath Awareness, or Gratitude Meditation. No experience is necessary to attend. Walk ins welcome, though you must arrive on time to participate and be 13 or older. $5 donation.
