A big welcome to all our guests enjoying the red rocks of Sedona, AZ over the 4th of July weekend! I just have one questions for everybody, are you ready to have some fun? Well we are! From laser shows, water rides, live entertainment, and gallery tours in Sedona; to Fireworks in Cottonwood; the Art Walk in Jerome and don’t forget the 82nd Annual Hopi Festival of Arts and Culture in Flagstaff. We are ready to rock out the holiday! Below you will find all the featured events taking place in the Sedona area. Sedona’s 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries

The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves. What a perfect event to find that special Valentine’s Day gift! All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Sedona Entertainment: Darius Lux Trio
July 1st, 2016 (7:00 pm – 10:00 pm)
Don’t miss the Darius Lux Trio at Sedona’s Sound Bites Grill! This is an new ensemble of three outstanding artist coming together with some of the best soulful blues/pop/rock music to grace the stage at SBG. When singer/songwriter Darius Lux left the confines of New York City to travel the world for a year, he didn’t fully comprehend the life changing pilgrimage he was embarking on. Vintage Independence Day Celebration
July 2nd, 2016 (Clarkdale, AZ)
Verde Canyon Railroad kicks off the weekend festivities with an all-American barbecue at the railroad depot on Saturday, July 2nd prior to the 1:00 p.m. train departure of the Firecracker Express. Our nation’s symbol, the bald eagle, leads the route, its visage adorning mighty mid-century American-built locomotives. That Saturday the painted eagles will share the day with a real live version aboard the train. The Firecracker Express proudly welcomes Sonora, a rescued, educational eagle from Liberty Wildlife. Sonora, the only train-riding bald eagle in the world, will visit each open-air car throughout the journey to the delight of passengers and crew alike. Jerome Art Walk
July 2nd, 2016 (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
Once again, the magical mountain town will be hosting a night filled with art, music and refreshments galore. Art Walk is the only night that galleries are open from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Members like Nellie Bly by the Spirit Room, Patrick Lincoln in The New State Motor Company and Flux Gallery in the Old Jerome High School all bring a fresh energy to the vibrant art scene in Jerome. With 22 participating galleries and studios and many sponsoring businesses and restaurants offering specials, this is a festive night in Jerome. Annual Hopi Festival of Arts and Culture
Museum of Northern Arizona (Flagstaff, AZ)
July 2nd – 3rd, 2016 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
A Fourth of July tradition since the 1930s, the Hopi Festival of Arts & Culture features more than 80 award-winning artists and presenters from the Hopi villages in northern Arizona. Peruse and purchase a stunning selection of jewelry, katsinas, pottery, paintings, woodworking, baskets, textiles, and more by master and emerging Hopi artisans. Enjoy traditional music, artist demos, dancing and authentic food, as well as insightful lectures and a not-to-be missed children’s activity area. Free with museum admission. Flagstaff Art in the Park
July 2nnd – 4th, 2016
“Flagstaff Art in the Park” are arts and crafts festivals that feature tightly juried one-of-a-kind fine art and fine crafts designed and shown by the artists. These shows take place over the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends in Wheeler Park in Downtown Flagstaff; a beautiful tree shaded, grassy venue across the street from City Hall and on the main thoroughfare to the Grand Canyon. In addition to nearly one hundred artists from across the Southwest, these shows feature nonstop live music throughout the three days. There is also a New Wine Garden featuring Six AZ Vineyards! 4th of July Wet Fest
Swimming Pool, Water Rides, Food and Music
July 4th, 2016 (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)
Looking for something fun to do in Sedona, AZ during the day on 4th of July? Have a blast at Posse Ground Park! Enjoy lunch and music, a swimming pool and water slide fun all surrounded by the spectacular red rocks. This event is free of charge (food not included). The pool opens at 1:00 pm for free recreation swim and just outside the pool gate will be food for sale and fun water games and toys meant to help you beat the heat. All pool rules apply and a 375 person pool maximum will be enforced. Maximum does not apply to activities outside the pool gate.
- Parking available in the West Sedona School parking lots.
- Water Slides, water toys, slip-n-slide.
- All non-swimmers must be accompanied by and adult in the pool.
- Alcohol and dogs are not permitted.

4th of July Indoor Laser Light Show
July 4th, 2016 (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm)
Spend your 4th of July “day” at the Laser Light Show and still have time to drive to your favorite fireworks show at night. A patriotic themed laser light show will begin at the top of each hour in the Performing Arts Center at Red Rock High School. Each show is 25 minutes in duration. If you are a guest of the Inn of Sedona we will be happy to drop you off at this event and pick you up when you are ready to return to the hotel.
- Four convenient Laser Show times at the top of every hour. 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early to enter facility and be seated before show begins.
- Spectators will not be allowed in late.

17th Annual Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza
July 4th, 2016 (Cottonwood, AZ)
Pre-show activities start at 4:00 pm, Fireworks (8:45 pm)
Don’t miss out on all the family fun at the 17th Annual Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza taking place at the Cottonwood kid’s Park in front of the Verde Valley Fairgrounds in Cottonwood, Arizona! The VFW Color Guard will be giving a patriotic salute to veterans. There will be Free Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, a watermelon contest and inflatable rides! Wrist Bands are $10 and individual ride tickets are $1. The Fireworks will start at 8:45 pm and parking is only $1!
