Entertainment, art, live music and cooler temperatures are what Sedona, Arizona has in store for you this weekend! If you love art you will not want to miss Sedona’s 1st Friday Evening in Galleries starting at 5:00 pm. We would like to highly suggest making it a point to visit the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery featuring a new exhibition that puts a spotlight on “Summertime Art! Later that night you will not want to miss the Austin-based singer, songwriter, and musician Jackie Venson sizzling up the stage at Sound Bites Grill at 7:00 pm. For even more late night fun Brother to Brother will be live at Olde Sedona Bar and Grill at 9:00 pm!

Saturday kicks off the Annual Navajo Festival of Arts and Culture at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff and the Jerome Art Walk will be taking place. There is a slight chance for some monsoon activity over the weekend, so if you decide to go hiking into the red rocks we suggest you keep a eye on the skies. The red rocks are beautiful after a storm, keep your cameras on the ready! Below you will find our top picks for events and entertainment this weekend. The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves. What a perfect event to find that special Valentine’s Day gift! All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Jackie VensonJoin Sound Bites Grill in welcoming Austin-based singer, songwriter, and musician Jackie Venson. It is legend that a blistering Jackie Venson guitar solo knocked Pluto straight out of planetary existence. Venson’s “…astonishing mix of raw soul, superb musicianship and laid back grace…” (Austin American Statesman, June 2014) has been compared to the likes of Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and fellow Austin native Gary Clark, Jr. Originally a classical pianist, Jackie picked up the guitar, shortly after graduating from Berklee College of Music, and made the giant leap from the tradition of classical music to the raw and gritty blues. Jerome Art Walk

Jerome Art WalkOnce again, the magical mountain town will be hosting a night filled with art, music and refreshments galore. Art Walk is the only night that galleries are open from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Members like Nellie Bly by the Spirit Room, Patrick Lincoln in The New State Motor Company and Flux Gallery in the Old Jerome High School all bring a fresh energy to the vibrant art scene in Jerome. With 22 participating galleries and studios and many sponsoring businesses and restaurants offering specials, this is a festive night in Jerome.
