Thunder Valley Rally kicks off today, Friday, September 16th, in Cottonwood, AZ, and tonight there is a “Guided Moonlight Hike” at Red Rock State Park, with telescope viewing after the hike! Anthony Mazzella will also be live tonight at Sound Bites Grill! Also taking place this weekend: Red Rose Sedona Arts and Crafts Show, Starlight Tour on the Verde Canyon Railroad and all the football you can handle on the big screens at Olde Sedona Bar and Grill. And of course, great weather for hiking and biking in the red rocks! Have a great weekend!

Thunder ValleyVisit Bootleg Capital of Arizona, historic Cottonwood, AZ for the 15th annual Thunder Valley Rally!Thunder Valley Rally will provide you with breathtaking rides through the Verde Valley, Bootlegging Poker Run (registration fee), “Lucky Penny” Bike Show and an awesome line up of free live concerts! Street parking for motorcycles is only $10 and includes entrance to the concert area. Don’t have a bike? No problem. Red Rock State Park
Guided Sedona Full Moon Hike
September 16th, 2016 (5:30 pm)
$5.00 reservation fee in addition to the regular entrance fees
Moonlight hikeLed by a naturalist, this hike gives participants the rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while learning about Sedona. A knowledgeable guide will provide interpretive information on topics such as park history, archaeology, geology, botany, and local wildlife. The hike lasts 2 – 2 1/2 hours and covers a distance of approximately two miles. Rangers ask hikers to please arrive approximately 30 minutes before the starting time to ensure participation. Children under 12 are discouraged from participating and children 7 and under are not permitted on this hike. Wear suitable clothing and closed toed shoes, bring water, and a flashlight. The Astronomers of Verde Valley will set up their telescopes for a moon viewing at the conclusion of the hike.
