Today, Saturday and Sunday should be in the mid to upper 80’s, making it a beautiful weekend to be out and about. We still highly suggest limiting hiking to the early morning and sunset hours, and of course remember you are in the desert, drink plenty of water when you’re out exploring the red rocks. Sedona Arts Center: 12 x 12 Project and Fundraiser
Over 100 Artists Contributing to 2nd Annual Event for Local Art Lovers

Admission: $50 Preview Tickets 5:30pm / FREE to Public at 6:30pm
12x121What do you get when you invite hundreds of extraordinary artists to create new unsigned works within a 12-inch space, and exhibit everything in support Sedona’s hometown cultural organization? Sedona Arts Center has the answer in its 2nd Annual 12x 12 Mystery Art Project and Fundraiser taking place in the historic Art Barn. And the public is invited to unlock the creative mysteries. The 12 x 12 Project invites artists and visual communicators from all over to create and donate a 12 by 12 inch work, which will be shown and offered at the event for $250—with proceeds going to support Sedona Arts Center’s programs and operations. Art lovers will find painting, photography, fiber, ceramic, and even sculptural works. What they won’t find is the artist’s signature—keeping an air of mystery for those in attendance. Summer Archaeology Film Fest

The Verde Valley Archaeology Center is pleased to present a summer of free archaeology films on Friday evenings at 6:30 pm in June, July and August in Sedona and Camp Verde.The Sedona films are shown at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road. Red Rock State Park – Guided Bird Walk

HOME_653Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk”. Beginning as well as advanced birders are welcome. Rangers recommend that visitors bring their own binoculars. A limited number are available for loan from the Park. No matter the time of day, visitors can check out the many birds who make Red Rock State Park their home. Zenprov Comedy Live Show: ‘Marriage for Dummies

So join Zenprov Comedy for their one-night only completely improvised show “Marriage For Dummies” at the Mary D. Fisher Theater. Zenprov plans to lampoon this venerable institutions from all angles— courtship, proposals, marriage, kids, divorce, until death do us part and beyond — are all fair game. The troupe embraces the Del Close method of improv acting, which emphasizes the “group mind” that mysteriously develops during a performance. Miraculously, the player’s minds fuse together to create a “super mind” where they practically finish each others sentences—and often do. Laughter ensues. Guided Geology Hike

Red Rock State ParkJoin Red Rock State Park’s knowledgeable volunteers as they venture out on their trails and discuss how Sedona transformed into what we see today. Red Rock State Park is located at the base of the Mogollon Rim, the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. Over millions of years of erosion the rim has receded over four miles leaving behind the picturesque features of Sedona. This is an interpretive experience for both the beginner and experienced hiker, lasting between 2-2 ½ hours and an elevation gain of 250 feet. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear.
