Sedona Arts Festival

October 7th – 8th, 2017

One of our favorite festivals of the year is almost here! The Sedona Arts Festival kicks off Saturday, October 7th, at the Sedona Red Rock High School! Why is it one of our favorite’s you ask? It’s simple, 125 artists from across the US will be showcasing their exquisite work in a variety of mediums including Ceramics, Mixed Media, Fiber Art, Glass, Photography, Drawing,Sculpture, Jewelry, Wood, Metal, and Painting! This is seriously one of the best gatherings of talented artists!

There will also be live music both days of the festival including four time Grammy nominee William Eaton!  There is also a popular KidZone that is all about creative fun and inspiration, using tried and true hands-on activities and a Gourmet Gallery, your one-stop shop for locally made yummy treats! A “Fine Art Gallery” is being added to the festival this year. Festival Hours: Saturday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

One of the new artist to the Festival: Brian Lensink from Phoenix, Arizona

Brian designs and creates wood turned objects that are sculptural and artistic, such as vessels or mobiles or utilitarian such as pepper mills or salad bowls.

“In recent years, I have developed an additional interest in woodturning. I design and create segmented woodturning objects that are often influenced by Native American basket and rug weavers. This involves interpreting their designs into what is possible to do in wood. I am currently working on projects that combine wood turned elements in the construction of mobiles and stabiles. In the process I enjoy using many exotic and beautiful wood species in my work. In the area of woodturning I have been greatly influenced by Malcolm Tibbetts and Ray Allen who do such beautiful and creative work in segmented wood turning”. – Brian Lensink
