June 3rd – 8th, 2014

It’s that time of year again, when the sounds of bluegrass fill the red rocks! The 8th Annual Sedona Bluegrass Festival presented by Chamber Music Sedona will be taking place from June 3rd – 8th, featuring five days of bluegrass activities including 2 days of concerts, a bluegrass barbecue, a very special movie presented by the Sedona International Film Festival and more. The Bluegrass Festival is part of “Sedona Arts Week”.

Sedona BluegrassCome and enjoy Bluegrass from many different perspectives with Darol Anger, arguably one of today’s best bluegrass violinists; Peter Rowan, a legend in the Bluegrass world; The Furies with their mythical, magical, musical mayhem; Laurie Lewis, Bluegrass’ leading female guitarist; Tom Rozum with his gifted mandolin and versatile vocals; Ben Sollee who is breaking new ground with his cello; Yugchen Lhamo, Tibet’s reigning vocalist; The Sonoran Dogs with their amazing improvizations on the traditional bluegrass style; and Pick & Holler with their high energy old timey originals. – Chamber Music Sedona website.

Bluegrass Festival Schedule of Events

June 3rd (2:00 pm)
Spirited Creativity Exploration
Bring your instruments, your voice and your stories and jam with Michael Miles and foremost fiddler Darol Anger. Hear their stories of how their music developed and led to a whole new genre of American music. Experienced musicians as well as ordinary music lovers are invited. Tickets are $35. June 4th (6:30 pm)
Sedona Cinema – “Then There’s Mike and Darol”
The longtime friendship shared by two of the acoustic string worlds most respected artists will be the focal point of “Then There’s Mike and Darol” Darol Anger will be here to introduce the film and host a Q&A discussion following the screening. June 5th (5:00 – 7:30 pm)
Bluegrass Picnic BBQ
Join friends for a delicious evening of bluegrass and food on the lawn at the beautiful Segner Ranch in Oak Creek. Bring your lawn chair and a blanket for this picnic where you will experience great BBQ and fabulous Bluegrass while lounging on the lawn surrounded by the red rocks of Munds Canyon. Tickets are $70. June 6th (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
Bluegrass in the Galleries – Free Event
First Friday Gallery Walk concerts will feature Flagstaff’s own Diamond Down String Band performing at Goldenstein Gallery from 5-6:15pm, and then Sedona Arts Center from 6:545-8pm.

June 7th & 8th
Bluegrass Festival Concerts
