1st Friday Evening in the Galleries – Meet Local Artists & Tour the Galleries
February 1st, 2013 (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
On the first Friday of each month, members of the Sedona Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. These special art receptions give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene. For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. 8th Annual Sedona Marathon – 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon Races

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce, along with the entire Sedona area, will welcome thousands of runners, their families and friends for a weekend of fierce competition and neighborly camaraderie in the world famous resort destination of Sedona, Arizona. More than 2,000 runners will participate in 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon races which will take the runners through the scenic Coconino National Forest District, known for its magical red rock formations, and onto the streets of what Good Morning America has chosen as one of the Top 10 most beautiful cities in the United States. Studio Live Sedona – Vismaya:Songs From My Red Suitcase

Most of us know Vismaya, who now goes by Ingrid Hagelberg as a cabaret/jazz singer. However, when she first arrived in the USA, in Los Angeles, she was also recognized as a class act singer/actress. In L.A., Ingrid played a starring role in I Remember Mama, a play about a Norwegian immigrant family in the early 1900s. She received the Glendale Center Theater best actress award for her performance. The album ‘Songs from My Red Suitcase’ was recorded in 2010 and highlights some songs she did in her show at Canyon Moon Theater several years ago. Verde Canyon Railroad – “Rhythm on the Rails”

Red Rock State Park – Guided Geology Hike

This is the perfect time of year to join an experienced guide who leads a hike focusing on the geology of the Sedona area. You will learn why the rocks are red, where they came from, where they are going, and more. The hike includes the Eagle’s Nest Trail for great views while also learning about the geology.
