Visit Sedona, Arizona this weekend and enjoy the creations of talented artists at Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour on September 6th, 2013 and the Jerome Art Walk on Saturday, September 7th!

The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves.

Below you will find a few of the exhibits and receptions taking place during the First Friday Gallery Tour, to see a full listing of participating galleries please visit the Sedona Gallery Association on Facebook. For your convenience, the Sedona Trolley provides free transportation to venture from art gallery to art gallery. We also offer our guest free shuttle service to uptown Sedona and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

“Fall” in Love With Art at Rowe Fine Art Gallery
Welcome a change of season at Rowe Fine Art Gallery during the Sedona Gallery Association’s 1st Friday Gallery Tour. You’ll find a beautiful selection of southwestern and wildlife art that will get you in the mood for changing leaves and cooler temperatures.A highlight of the show is Ken Rowe’s newest sculpture, “Words of Wisdom,” a pair of bronze bookends featuring male and female great horned owls. “Beauty of the West”
Experience the interpretations and love of the west captured by camera, paint brush, gems and clay in this month’s exhibit, Beauty of the West at Sedona Arts Center’s Fine Art Gallery in Uptown, Sedona. Enjoy the opening reception featuring brilliant works by Jennifer Defoe, Mariann Leahy, Harvey Stearn, Margo Mitchell and Susan Pitcairn. Go early and enjoy a poetry workshop with Cynthia Hogue with Poets Corner readings from 4:00 – 5:oo pm. Make sure not to miss the 7th Annual Open Members’ Show taking place in their Special Exhibition Gallery from September 6th- September 22nd, 2013!. Rich Traditions: Native American Pottery
The gallery’s newest exhibition showcases an impressive collection of Native American pots and storytellers. One of the gifted potters whose work can be found here is Hopi artist Raynard Navasie. Navasie is the third generation to carry on the gifts of skill and design for which his family is known. His grandmother, Frogwoman Navasie, signed her pots with a frog and Raynard has adapted a frog design of his own to honor her as he signs his own pots. For more information please visit the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery.

Andrea Smith Gallery – Smith’s journey to Bangkok & Bali
Andrea Smith has just returned from a 3 week excursion through Thailand and Bali, where she collected exotic treasures, including teakwood carvings, designer jewelry, and spiritually infused art. Andrea would like to invite everyone to see the exciting treasures she has brought back to Sedona from Bali and Bangkok. Meet Andrea and see the latest SW Asian collection at the Andrea Smith Gallery. Jerome Art Walk

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Jerome Art Walk continues its momentum on September 7th with its First Saturday celebration of art. Twenty-five galleries and studios will be open from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with art, music and refreshments. This free event has become a Verde Valley favorite with a shuttle that will transport you from the artist filled Old Jerome High School, up to the center of town with The Lincoln Gallery and Made in Jerome Pottery and everything in-between.To learn more about this event please visit the Jerome Art Walk.
