If you are going to be visiting Sedona, Arizona and the Verde Valley this weekend, don’t miss your opportunity to attend a very special event at Tuzigoot National Monument! On Saturday, April 18th the Astronomers of the Verde Valley and Tuzigoot National Monument, located about 30 minutes from the Inn of Sedona in Clarkdale, AZ, will be hosting a “Star Party”!
Visitors can learn about the cosmos, explore the night sky through high powered telescopes, and enjoy the brilliant stars in the dark desert skies. Nights are still chilly; please wear warm clothes. They recommend that you bring a flashlight that has a red filter to make it easier for your eyes to adjust to the dark. Also, places to sit are very limited at the monument, so if you plan on staying a while, bring a collapsible chair. It will be very dark, open toed shoes are not recommended. There is no fee for this special program! For more information, you may contact Laura Varon-Burkhart at 928-567-3322 ex.221. Visit Tuzigoot National Monument on Facebook.
