Sedona PrideAll of us at the Best Western PLUS Inn of Sedona are proud to help spread the word about the upcoming Sedona/Verde Valley Pride Festival. Join Sedona/Verde Valley Pride for eight fantastic events occurring throughout the Verde Valley from Thursday, September 25th thru Sunday, September 28th, 2014. Events include The Mix and Mingle Soiree, Pride Victory Garden Tour, Guilty Pleasures Fashion Show, Light Hike and Guided Meditation,Free2BU Pride Festival, Official Free2BU After Party, Salsa Brunch with LGBT Jeopardy and Fine Art Raffle, and Pride Family Pizza and Pool Party.

Event and Festival Schedule September 25th – 28th

  • Mix and Mingle Soiree
    The “Free2BU” Festival roars to life on September 25th, at 6:00pm at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre in Sedona. Meet new friends, mingle with some festival entertainers, and personally thank their sponsors, while showing your support for LGBT rights! At 7:00 pm, Illuminate Film Festival favorite, Armen Ra takes the stage for a special limited engagement performance.
  • Tour the Pride Festival’s Victory Garden
    On September 26th and 27th, tour the Victory Garden at Riverfront Park in Cottonwood, just one of a weekend full of events at this year’s Pride Festival. Special “garden angels” will be on hand to give you free guided tours from 7:00 am -10:00 am, where you can cultivate your own gardening tips or taste the vibrant flavors of freshly picked seasonal vegetables.
  • 1st Annual Guilty Pleasures Fashion Show and Fundraiser (21+ Event,)
    This event takes place at 8:00pm on Friday the 26th, at Relics in Sedona. Show starts at 9:15pm.  $1=1 vote for your favorite. Highest votes win King and Queen titles! Fundraiser for Pride, sex education and AIDS research. There will be a $10 cover. 
  • Light Hike & Guided Meditation lead by Sherab “Shey” Khandro
    Enjoy a meditation and light hike, 8:00 am 9:30 am on September 27th, guided by celebrated artist and spiritual mentor, Sherab Khandro, starting at the trailhead of Thunder Mountain trail in Sedona. Comfortable shoes, a bottle of water and an open mind are all you need to bring to participate. Free event, donations are welcomed.
  • Free2BU Pride Festival and Equality Celebration
    The Free2BU Pride Festival and Equality Celebration will take place on September 27th from 11:00 am – 6:00pm in Old Town Cottonwood. Join us for a celebration of life, love, education, history and a brighter future for all! Live music, shopping, food, drinks, children’s activities, education, and more! $5 adults, $3 with Student ID, 10 & Under Free!   • Free2BU After Party
    After the festival  join Pride for the Official Free2BU After Party in Cottonwood at Main Stage at 8:00 pm for drinks, dancing and fun! The Pubes will perform, as well as DiVa, Mya McKenzie and Desiree DeMornay. Dance the night away to DJ lil.EGO, who will help you rock the night out! $5 cover charge, drink specials.
  • Salsa Brunch, LGBT Jeopardy & Fine Art Raffle Drawing
    Join in the fun September 28th, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at Oaxaca Restaurant in Sedona. Expand your LGBT knowledge and win some fabulous prizes, or participate in the official drawing for our fine art raffle. $12 at the door, includes breakfast, tea or coffee and 1 raffle ticket. Enter to play Jeopardy via our website.
  • Pride Festival’s Family Pizza and Pool Party
    Get Ready for some fun on September28th at the Sedona Municipal Pool and Rec Room. Make a splash at the final Festival Event. Bring the floaties, the flip-flops and the family along for an awesome pool and pizza party. Non-alcoholic event, $5 per adult, $2 per child and $1 per slice of pizza. Benefits the Pride Scholarship Fund. Event takes place from 2:00pm -5:00 pm.
