Kick start your holiday season this weekend in Sedona, Arizona and the Verde Valley! There is holiday family fun to be found everywhere this weekend. From the Festival of Trees, to Sedona’s Tree Lighting and Santa Visit, from the Chocolate Walk in Cottonwood, AZ to the Holiday Edition of Sedona Restaurant week and of course, the 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries; all these events and more will be taking place in the red rocks this weekend. Oh yeah, and in case I forget to mention it, there will be live performances of The Nutcracker presented by the combined Sedona Chamber Ballet Company and Phoenix Ballet Company right here in Sedona as well! What a great way to start the holiday festivities, a weekend in Sedona!

Festival of Trees at Tlaquepaque
December 3rd – 5th, 2015 (11:00 am – 7:00 pm)
Area artists and galleries will have Art inspired trees vignettes. The trees all have different themes and incorporate different materials – some are indoor and others are outdoor trees. Kick off your holiday season with a beautiful themed tree already pre-decorated. The trees will be on display on our 2nd floor Terrace at Tlaquepaque accompanied with silent auction bid sheets. Viewers may visit Tlaquepaque and check their bids through 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th. Proceeds benefit “Toys for Tot’s” along with other local charities. Tinsel Town at Posse Grounds
December 3rd – 6th, 2015 (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
Enjoy a small walk through the picnic area at the park while it is lit up with lights and decorations all created by Sedona businesses, organizations and community members. This display is perfect for the little ones.This event takes place in the Picnic Ramadas of Posse Grounds Park. Sedona’s Tree Lighting and Santa Visit
December 4th, 2015 (5:00 pm – 7:00 pm)
Come watch the lighting of the community’s 20’ tree and Santa’s arrival. Let your youngsters tell Santa all their hopes and dreams. All the while, hear seasonal favorites from local carolers and youth music groups, and enjoy hot cocoa or cider and cookies. This free family event is presented by Sedona Main Street Program with Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau and the City of Sedona to start the holiday season. Sedona Restaurant Week: Holiday Edition
December 4th – 13th, 2015
This event gives local foodies and visitors the chance to experience a selection of specially priced meals from a wide variety of Sedona’s restaurants. Guests will enjoy three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus including an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Sedona’s 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries

The Sedona’s First Friday Gallery Tour receptions and exhibits give locals and Sedona visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while beginning their weekends with an exploration of Sedona’s exciting art scene and in many cases meeting the artist themselves. What a perfect event to find that special holiday gift! All of the exhibits and artist receptions for 1st Friday run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Breakfast with Santa
Pancakes, Crafts & Santa Claus
December 5th, 2015 (8:00 am – 10:00 am)
The breakfast is being held at the Sedona Teen Center located in Posse Grounds Park. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. for families interested in enjoying breakfast in this festive atmosphere. Breakfast will be served until 9:45 a.m. and the event will end at 10:00 a.m. After breakfast, children can enjoy making winter crafts, as well as sitting on Santa’s lap. Parents, don’t forget to bring your camera if you would like a picture of your child with Santa Claus. This event is free of charge, so come for the pancakes (and more), come for the crafts and most of all, come to see Santa Claus! 22nd Annual Chocolate Walk (Cottonwood, AZ)
December 5th, 2015 (3:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
Parade at 11:00 am
Enjoy a fun-filled day in Historic Old Town Cottonwood as they celebrate the 22nd Annual Chocolate Walk! The merriment begins with the 61st Annual Cottonwood Christmas Parade, set to begin at 11:00 am. Beginning at 3:00 pm, you can collect your bag, map and ticket at the Old Town Civic Center, located at 805 N. Main Street. Collect a variety of homemade OR gourmet chocolates at more than 40 shops up and down Main Street! Hot cocoa will be offered at multiple stops along the way.
