Sedona Open Studios Tour

Free Self Guided Tour
SVACWorking artists in the Verde Valley will be opening their private studios to the public at the end of April for the Sedona Visual Artists’ Coalition’s (SVAC) 13th annual Open Studios Tour. This non-profit, artist-run event provides thousands of visitors a unique opportunity to meet the artists and gain a first-hand view of their creative processes. The weekend event is a free, self-guided tour allowing visitors the opportunity to meet and talk with artists in their daily work spaces. The Umbrella Project at Hillside Sedona
April 29th – May 1st, 2015
logo_umbreallaproject2Hillside Sedona, located at 671 State Route 179, Sedona, AZ is once again the site to display this year’s Umbrella Project Charity Event. Hillside Sedona will be home to over 200 beautifully hand painted umbrellas that will be on display. The umbrellas were painted by students across the country, Arizona and Havasupai Elementary students. The artistic umbrellas are available for a recommended donation of $50. All money will go directly to the Havasupai Elementy to assist them in obtaining much needed classroom supplies and technology. For more information please visit www.hillsidesedona.net.

Verde Valley Fair (Cottonwood, AZ)

Verde Valley FairKick up your heels, let out a couple of hee – haws and eat some sweet hot funnel cakes. You guessed it – the Verde Valley Fair is back! Since 1967, features fun for the entire family including children’s activities, commercial vendors selling their wares, games, crafts, a wide variety of food, rides, Since 1967, featuring a carnival, livestock shows, concerts, pony rides, a petting zoo and many side show attractions and games! Red Rock State Park – Guided Bird Walk

Walks are included with park entrance fees
HOME_653Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a “Guided Bird Walk”. Beginning as well as advanced birders are welcome. Rangers recommend that visitors bring their own binoculars. A limited number are available for loan from the Park. No matter the time of day, visitors can check out the many birds who make Red Rock State Park their home. The bird-feeding area behind the visitor center, on the Hummingbird Patio, is an excellent spot to start your tour or to take pictures.
